Over the last few weeks, I've been focused on learning German so I really have not much time to read. But this weekend, I am suffering from a terrible backache which is why I'm bedridden all weekend. Since I can't really focus on learning grammar, I thought I'd start a new novel -- The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. So far, it's been hard to put down despite the fact that there's nothing much going on (I'm 15% through it). Strange how Donna Tartt's novels work that way.
I've been listening to a lot of Kakkmaddafakka because they've been to Amsterdam this week and their hype isn't wearing off yet.
Two things -- to get my laundry washed and folded and to go to this new Damien Hirst exhibit close to where I live (a 15-minute walk to be exact). I want to see his spot paintings, animals in formaldehyde, and the famous diamond encrusted skull, For the Love of God (which is by the way for sale for 3.500€).
'For the Love of God' (2007) is now on display for the first time in Scandinavia at the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo alongside a presentation of the artist's works from the museum's permanent collection. I discovered a really nice Instagram page today called @thesarisariproj. This page is dedicated to illustrations of different sari-sari stores in the Philippines. In case you do not know what a sari-sari store is, it is a mom and pop type of convenience store. Sari-sari means variety which implies that you can expect to buy a variety of things from it. Anyway, aren't these illustrations so cute?
God, I wish I could draw or paint. Maybe I'll take classes next year after I'm finished with my German lessons.
"Don't grab my pussy." If you have seen the over a decade old video of Donald Trump where he's making lewd statements then you'll know what I mean. He's so disgusting. America, please don't put this dangerous man in office. Just look at the nutcase we have in the Philippines. He's just as disgusting.
For sunny weather next weekend because we're going to Copenhagen.
The energy to plan our itinerary for next weekend and to learn German. My tutor has gone on a week-long holiday and I guess you could say that I went on a learning holiday myself since there's no pressure to learn this week. I've not been putting as many hours as I normally would. But I guess that's gonna change next week now that he's back.
